I originally detailed this 1954 Ferrari 250 Europa over a year ago. Since then it has been on a couple of European rallies and was booked in for the full works.
A two stage machine polish was carried out to enhance the Ferrari cream paintwork and add some great depth. This car was painted cream from it’s original silver around 1959 – that’s 63 odd years old, so I didn’t want to go in with heavy compounds and pad combinations, bearing in mind the age and the worth of this car. A medium/fine compound and ultra fine combo was used.
After the polishing, Kamikaze Collection Zipang was applied to the paintwork further enhancing gloss levels and adding excellent protection against the elements. The glass was then polished inside and out with the exterior glass receiving a coating of Gtechniq Smart Glass.
The chrome work was lightly polished and protected. Onto the underside this was fully cleaned and dressed – inner arches, suspension, chassis, fuel tank, exhaust pipes.
The wire wheels were already off the Ferrari, these were carefully cleaned and protected inside and out then fitted back onto the 250. Interior leather was treated with leather feed, and the V12 cleaned by hand and dressed.
