Here’s a high specced 2016 Golf R booked in for a winter protection detail. After the usual wash down/decontamination process, the paintwork was prepped ready for Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and Exo combo. Glass polished inside and out with Gtechniq Smart glass applied to the wheels and Gyeon Rim to the wheel faces.
Exhaust tips were polished and sealed with Britemax Twins. Interior vacuumed and cleaned throughout. All ready for the winter months ahead.
A stunning huge spec Volkswagen Golf R in lapis blue was booked in for a new car detail with added leather care protection package, also opting for the wheel and caliper protection package too.
Having just 22 miles on the clock, the vehicle was not prepped by Volkswagen, but still showed some minor scratches and swirl marks here and there which were removed with a single stage machine polish creating a very nice gloss to lay the Kamikaze Collection coatings down on which the owner went for instead of the original Gtechniq option.
Miyabi Coat acted as a base layer giving a good hardness with excellent gloss and hydrophobic properties. Certified only ISM Pro was then added on top. Now, ISM Pro on it’s own is extremely hydrophobic but when paired with Miyabi as an undercoat the gloss levels go through the roof and adds even more durability against the elements. Topping this up with Kamikaze Collection Overcoat it’s a seriously strong combination.
Wheels were removed and coated inside and out with Gyeon Rim as well as the calipers. This is an additional bolt on wheel/caliper care package. Centre caps were re-aligned with the tyre valves and torqued to factory specs. The locking wheel bolts are aligned at 12 o’clock even though they are under the dust caps.
The owner also opted to have the leather treatment package added to his new car detail. Multiple coats of Dr Leather Dye Block was applied to the black, cream and carbon fibre weaved seats, with the steering wheel door cards, gear knob and gator also coated. Exterior glass received Gtechniq Smart Glass coating for easy viewing and extra safety when driving in poor conditions.
The result an extremely gloss, wet look appearance to the lapis blue paintwork with incredible protection to every surface of the vehicle. I do love working on lapis blue!
This year old VW Touareg R Line was booked in for a much needed paint correction detail. A multi stage machine polishing process was carried out with certified detailer only Kamikaze Collection ISM Pro protecting the paintwork giving extreme gloss and durability. The lapis blue really, REALLY shows off what the two stage Enrei Coat is capable of. Unrivalled intense candy gloss, that serious wet look finish and superb durability against the elements.
An awesome VW mk3 Golf with a whole host of modifications was booked in for a three stage machine polish and Kamikaze Collection ISM Pro for paintwork and carbon fibre protection.
The Golf had an Audi TT engine swap, TT dash grafted in, RS4 bucket seats, late Porsche 911 carbon fibre steering wheel, knee bars and brackets in carbon fibre, TT centre console housing hidden Accuair digital air ride controller and carbon handbrake with additional carbon accents on the doors. In the rear full leather trim continued and a rollcage dominated the rear.
Outside Audi door handles and Audi TT fuel filler cap were grafted into the doors and rear quarters. Split rim Porsche wheels sat tucked up in the arches with Porsche brakes sitting behind them with cross drilled discs all round as well as more carbon fibre additions. The vehicle will be on show at Ultimate Dubs 2017 in the main hall.
A simple wash and prep with a decent wax on this brand new Golf R in Lapis Blue ended up with me needing 4 pints and a lie down. Arrived to see the car still wrapped but sat next to a busy roundabout with the rear wrap that covered the boot flapping about in the wind, thinking about the mental storm we had this week I cringed and had the salesman car bring round to the wash bay, after about a 20 minute wait :/
This was a right treat, no one spoke any English, some old dear went to work on a 66 plate Amarok with a broom (picture below). Asking where the tap was to do my buckets she just pointed and what could only be described as week old Minestrone soup with a sponge in it. I eventually found the water supply and began my wash down process thus getting in two huge arguements with their valeters and their daft boss saying I was taking too long, so told them to F off out of it. “That’s why I don’t do mobile/dealership outings I thought!” Carefully dried and brought out into the sun.
Where the wrap had been hitting the bootlid these incredible defects where left all along the bootlid and the tops of the spoiler on each side. Called the customer who was gutted, and me myself felt very sorry for the dealer. Salesman didn’t seem fussed at all.
After surviving hell, I was lucky to bring it indoors where employees of this dealership told me incredible stories of lucky escapes where customers haven’t noticed marks on their new cars. Asbolutely ridiculous.
I’d have liked to of taken more pictures of the wash bay as it was hurrendous, but “we haven’t time to wash the cars properly” in broken English.
Finished in Dodo Juice Supernatural and Zaino Z8.
A few pictures and video below I escaped.
