A superb BMW E46 that I remember from the show days when I had my own show cars was booked in for a pre show detail to rid imperfections in the paintwork and get it show ready.
Being in the paint shop previously, micro marring was evident over the sections painted – the bonnet, and doors especially and into the rear quarters. Paint readings ranged from 50 up to around 220 on the paint gauge, so a real mixed bag.
A two stage machine polishing process was carried out, finishing polish was Kamikaze Collections awesome detailer only Ichiban polish. The paintwork was then given a coat of the superb show car wax Bouncer’s 22 for mental gloss and paint flake pop.
Zaino Z8 was then misted over the top for a bit of extra gloss. Wheels, monster AP Racing calipers and tyres were treated with Gyeon products with one of the wheel lips being sanded back due to curb rash, then polished with Mothers metal polish, then coated.
Interior featured a beautiful retrim in biscuit leather and alcantara everywhere you looked. Carbon fibre accents stood out nicely against the biscuit hue. Chemical Guys Inner Clean was used for the dash and panels, then vacuumed throughout. Interior glass cleaned with Kleers glass cleaner.
Engine bay cleaned and dressed with Aerospace 303.
The car will be on show at the British Motor Museum for the National BMW Show on 14.08.16
