A brand new Porsche Cayenne S booked in for a new car detail after the dealership carried out a new car protection detail with poor results and also having a Gtechniq Platinum coating applied to the whole vehicle.
For starters, when carrying out the safe wash and decontamination process it was clear to see the coating wasn’t up to par at all. Water just sat on the vehicle’s surface like a mill pond. A true coating should instead bead water and run off the surface effortlessly.
On inspection after the wash the paintwork was covered in scratches and swirl marks – this being from poor preparation again by the dealership and when applying the previously mentioned coating. For a brand new premium car, this is just not acceptable.
A single stage machine polish was carried out to remove the defects, strip the existing mediocre coating and create a deep, glossy surface for the new coating to sit on. Coating of choice was Kamikaze Collection of Japan’s accredited detailer only application of Zipang Gold Class Coat. This has extreme candy gloss levels and excellent durability against the elements.
Exterior glass was coated with Angelwax H2GO rain repellent, wheel faces coated with TITAN, exterior trim coated with Carpro Perl as well as tyres. Engine bay also dressed with Carpro Perl. Interior cleaned and vacuumed throughout.
